Season 5 of Game of Thrones came to a close with the season finale, Mother's Mercy. The Cast Beyond the Wall is here to discuss what amounted to one of the most action-packed episodes of the entire series. Following the ultimate sacrifice of Shireen, Stannis prepared to attack Winterfell. In what had been prophecized as his defining moment, everything Stannis had killed for crumbled in mere moments. After being crushed by the Bolton army, Stannis fled into the woods where he would finally encounter the fan favorite Brienne of Tarth. We discuss the storyline that has been building to this moment for years. Despite the slow build up, it looks like we'll have to wait just a little bit longer to learn the fate of the fallen Baratheon. Our final trip to King's Landing this year took us to an unusual place as we finally felt sympathy for Cersei Baratheon as she "atoned" for her sins by making the demoralizing walk of shame to the Red Keep. Cersei is easily one of more villainess characters on the show, but watching the long walk was one of the most difficult scenes any of us had to sit through. We talk about her arc this season so far and whether or not her lowest moment could send her out to find redemption. Across the sea in Bravvos, Arya finally got some much-needed traction to what has been one of her more uneventful stories. After crossing the despised Meryn Trant off of her death list, we try to make sense of seemingly omniscient powers of the Faceless Men. We also head back to Mereen where Tyrion, Jorah, and Daario make plans to find Danerys back to the city. Game of Thrones left us on an especially distressing note as Jon Snow seems to have met a cruel fate at the hands of his own men of the Night's Watch. It may seem like a pretty definitely period to what has been a notably bleak season, but we all tune in with our own thoughts and theories about the ultimate fate of the famed bastard of Winterfell.

Just when you didn't think Game of Thrones could get any better than a white walker army, we get Daenerys Targarian mounting Drogon to round out an epic battle in the Merenese arena. The Cast Beyond the Wall is back to talk about the rise of Daenerys Targaryen and the fall of Stannis Baratheon in this week's episode, The Dance of Dragons. The Sons of the Harpy finally made another move against Daenerys as they upended the tournament in the fighting pits and began killing everyone including the despised Hizdahr zo Loraq. After being banished twice and killing a few men in the process, it looks like Jorah has finally won back Dany trust after chucking the so called spear of destiny one of her assassins. Arya's storyline continues to crawl to a climax as she has a run in with Meryn Trant when he arrives in Braavos with Mace Tyrell. Her season arc has been promising, but is really lacking the progress or urgency of some of her past story lines. Daniel and I get into a heated discussion whether or not we've like the slower pace. Dorne continues to be one of the absolute worst side treks in the history of the show and we spend a few minutes trying to figure out exactly what went wrong with our favorite Lannister/Bronn pairing. After a season of building our trust by aligning himself with Jon Snow and promising justice in the North, Stannis finally crossed the point of no return when he decided to burn his daughter. We've never been the biggest Stannis the Mannis fans on the podcast, but we discuss the high hopes we had for him before took a nosedive into desperation. This was an episode of the highest of highs and lowest of lows and we try to lay our final verdict on the seasons infamous episode 9. Where does it fall in comparison to the earlier seasons? Tune in to find out! Enjoy the show! Don't miss all of the latest Game of Thrones updates at We Got This Covered |

After a season light world breaking events, this week's episode of Game of Thrones, Hardhome delivered one of the biggest moments in the history of the show so far. The wait for winter is over and the White Walkers have finally arrived in truly terrifying fashion to slaughter what's left of the Wildling army. The Cast Beyond the Wall is here to discuss this game-changing defeat by the elusive Night's King and how it reframes the story of the entire series so far. Before getting to the titular event, we talk about the hotly anticipated pairing of Tyrion and Daenerys in Mereen. The two deliver a couple of the best scenes so far this season and we take a moment to try and unpack their dynamics. Hardhome also takes a moment to catch up with Arya in Braavos as she prepares to take on her first assignment from the Faceless Men. We try to decide if she's ready to go full Batman after months of training in The House of Black and White. We also take a moment to discuss Sansa's discovery of the truth about Bran and Rickon. After being beaten up by the monstrous Ramsey Bolton all season, she's finally starting to discover the drive she'll need to survive the trials she ahead. Theon may be broken beyond repair, but after learning the truth about her family it looks like she's about to become stronger than ever. We go in depth into every scene of what is undoubtedly the best episode of the season so far. Does it top some of the biggest moments from the Red Wedding, Battle of Blackwater, or Purple Wedding? Tune in and make sure to let us think in the comments below! Don't miss all of the latest Game of Thrones updates at We Got This Covered |

It's been a slow burn so far in this season of Game of Thrones, but the latest episode "The Gift" finally delivers on a few of the promises laid down over the last few episodes. The Cast Beyond the Wall is here to talk about some of the most anticipated moments of the entire series including Tyrion's meeting with Daenerys and Cersei's swift self-imposed downfall. Did they live up to the five seasons worth of build up? The Lannisters weren't the only family getting some great material this week. Further north, Stannis is faced with the decision of whether or not to sacrifice his daughter to ensure he defeats the Bolton's in battle. House Baratheon has made some pretty impressive strides in redeeming Stannis this year, but it seems as if he's faced with a choice that could define the legacy of his character. Dorne continues to be one of the most poorly executed storylines in the history of the show. Between Jamie's failure to win over Myrcella and Bronn's half baked piece of fan service in the jail cell, it's not shaping up to be everything Oberyn promised us. Tune in to hear our in-depth thoughts on each scene of The Gift. Enjoy the show! Don't miss all of the latest Game of Thrones updates at We Got This Covered |

Game of Thrones got heated in this week's episode Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken as Sansa's return to Winterfell turned dark. In our discussion on The Cast Beyond the Wall, we delve into "the scene" that sent the internet spinning into a controversial tizzy early this week. Before we tackle the hot button topic, we take a look at some of the episode's more prominent moments including Jorah's reflection on his daddy issues with the Jeor Mormont. Our favorite fallen knight and his dwarven companion Tyrion continue to steal the show on their journey to join Daenerys in Mereen. After the pirate kidnapping, there's only one question left to ask. Where have the Westerosi cock merchants been hiding? After a few weeks away, Arya returns to further explore the depths of the House of Black and White. It turns out, she's not the liar we all thought she was when faced eye to eye with Jaqen H'ghar. King's Landing continues to crumble at the hands of Cersei Lannister in her crusade to keep Margery from taking the seven kingdoms. Olenna Tyrell returns to even the odds, but that doesn't keep the Queen Mother from dragging Loras's name through the mud in a procedural hearing. The titular storyline featuring Jamie and Bronn's mission into dorm falls flat no thanks to a few missteps in the fight choreography and rushed storytelling. We break down all the reasons this plot thread has been dragging and offer a few suggestions on how to send it bouncing back. This episode has been one of the most polarizing yet and we lay down the hammer with our reviews and scene by scene discussion. Don't miss it! This week’s episode of Game of Thrones may not have quite packed the same level of action that we’ve become used to, but “Kill the Boy” didn’t disappoint in its character drama and we’re ready to dive right into all of it. On this installment of The Cast Beyond the Wall, we’re joined by special guests Dalton Stuart and Jessica Martin to discuss all of the latest developments in the north side of Westeros. We were all shocked by the passing of Ser Barristan after last week’s cliffhanger and we try to decide whether or not showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss gave the understated fan favorite his due. In the fallout of his death, Daenerys makes a vengeful decision to begin burning the former slave owners alive. It may not be one of the most diplomatic solutions, but we chime in with our thoughts on how well her moves will play with the rest of Mereen. This season of Game of Thrones continues to give Stannis knock out moments and this week was no exception. The self-declared king continues to win us over with his respectable decisions and great one on one talks with all of our favorite characters. Before finally departing the wall, Stannis has a few last words with Jon Snow and Samwell Tarly. After decapitating the despicable Janos Slynt a couple of episodes back, Jon continues to make controversial moves in his role as Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch. We take a closer look at his polarizing decision to work with the wildlings and set the likes of Ollie against him. The family drama in Winterfell began to ramp up this week as well now that Sansa is starting to settle into her old home. After years of being apart, she is finally reunited with Theon and the results are truly twisted. There’s certainly a lot to discuss this week and as always, we break it all down in our lengthy and in-depth discussion. Tune in below and be sure to leave a comment letting us know what you thought of “Kill the Boy.” Don't miss all of the latest Game of Thrones updates at We Got This Covered |

This week’s episode of Game of Thrones was season 5’s most action-packed installment yet, thanks to the rise of the Faith Militant and the growing threat of the Sons of the Harpy. Joining us in our in-depth discussion of the events that took place is We Got This Covered writer Sam Woolf, who has some of his own interesting theories and reactions to this week’s shocking cliffhanger. In case you missed it, “Sons of the Harpy” ramped up the events in King’s Landing when Cersei decided to arm the Faith Militant and name the High Sparrow the High Septon of the realm. She taunted Margery by having the Sparrows arrest Loras Tyrell for crimes against the gods and left the newly crowned King Tommen to pick up the pieces. While all hell broke loose in the capital, Jamie and Bronn landed in Dorne and continued their suicide rescue mission for Princess Myrcella. The Dornish storyline also brought us our first look at Oberyn’s bastards, known as the Sand Snakes, and we try to decide if they live up to his legend. In northern Westeros, Jon Snow survived Melissandre’s first seduction attempt while Stannis finally revealed the softer side of his hardened heart. He continues to be one of the most controversial characters on the show and we weigh in on the merit of his methods, intentions and recently discovered love for his daughter. Finally, we round out this week’s exciting discussion by talking about the climactic skirmish between Greyworm, Barristan Selmy and a band of harpies that had us clamoring for more. Will Barristan pull out of the battle in one piece, or have we seen the last of the greatest living night in Westeros? Tune into the latest episode of The Cast Beyond The Wall to find out!

High Sparrow was the most eventful Game of Thrones episode so far this season and The Cast Beyond the Wall is back to break down some of the most shocking moments. High Sparrow brought us one of Jon Snow's most character defining moments yet as he put Janos Slynt's head to on the chopping block. His first act as Lord Commander of the Night's Watch was undoubtedly a bold one we've been waiting to talk about. Is Jon laying down the law or planting the seeds of betrayal among his men? The north was chocked full of shocking twists, but none of them as surprising as Sansa's planned betrothal to known sociopath Ramsey Bolton. What does this mean for the last known Stark and Littlefinger's grand masterplan? Daniel, Austin, and I talk all of the possible moves and the brilliance of the strategy to take Westeros. In what seems like the first time in Game of Thrones history, the series featured a wedding going as planned. Margery has finally taken the claim to power in King's Landing and Cersei isn't taking it well. What exactly does her alliance with the High Sparrow mean in her plot to undermind Margery? This week was full of classic Game of Thrones moments and we've got each and every moment covered in our glorious pop culture filled discussion. Game of Thrones returned for another one of its finest hours packed with dragons, faceless men, and even the beginnings of a slave uprising. Join us on The Cast Beyond the Wall as we delve into the trickiest moral dilemmas The House of Black and White had to offer. The latest episode finally brought us up to speed with Arya as she arrived in the long talked about city of Braavos. After years of talk, she finally lands at the doorstep of the faceless men's lair. On the other side of the world, we finally get our first look at Dorne and Austin, Daniel, and I discuss whether or not it lived up to Oberyn's hype. The House of Black and White was an episode of tough decisions as Daenerys wrestled with her biggest challenge yet and Jon was forced to choose between the spot as Lord Commander of the Night's Watch or the next King in the North. We argue the merits of these big decisions and how they will shape the episodes ahead. The season opener of Game of Thrones may have gotten off to a slow start, but The House of Black and White really kicks things into high gear. Don't miss it! After a ten month hiatus, HBO's hit series Game of Thrones has finally returned and it seems the land of Westeros is starting to look like a very different place. No matter the difference in power players, The Cast Beyond the Wall has returned to talk the biggest twists from the latest episode. In this week's discussion we recap the somewhat polarizing season 5 premiere featuring a totally broken Tyrion Lannister and the recently mentorless Daenerys Targaryen. To kick off the season, we talk about the first flashback in Game of Thrones history and what it could means for Cersei's seemingly bleak future as Queen of Westeros. We try to decide the nature of the prophecy at hand and whether or not Margery is really the queen predicted to bring the Lannisters down. In The Wars to Come, Varys reveals his true allegiance and makes a proposition to Tyrion that could change the outcome of the entire show. I talk details with Daniel and Austin before begging the question of whether or not it really changes the game. With Tyrion being pointed to Daenerys, are we in for the show's most powerful team up yet? In the north, Jon is forced by Stannis to win the loyalty of Mance Rayder and his wildling armies to his cause. We lay out Mance's dilemma and talk the future implications of Jon's actions. The Wars to Come may be a slow burn set up episode, but there's no shortage of things to discuss on this week's episode of The Cast Beyond the Wall.
