It's been a slow burn so far in this season of Game of Thrones, but the latest episode "The Gift" finally delivers on a few of the promises laid down over the last few episodes. The Cast Beyond the Wall is here to talk about some of the most anticipated moments of the entire series including Tyrion's meeting with Daenerys and Cersei's swift self-imposed downfall. Did they live up to the five seasons worth of build up? The Lannisters weren't the only family getting some great material this week. Further north, Stannis is faced with the decision of whether or not to sacrifice his daughter to ensure he defeats the Bolton's in battle. House Baratheon has made some pretty impressive strides in redeeming Stannis this year, but it seems as if he's faced with a choice that could define the legacy of his character. Dorne continues to be one of the most poorly executed storylines in the history of the show. Between Jamie's failure to win over Myrcella and Bronn's half baked piece of fan service in the jail cell, it's not shaping up to be everything Oberyn promised us. Game of Thrones got heated in this week's episode Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken as Sansa's return to Winterfell turned dark. In our discussion on The Cast Beyond the Wall, we delve into "the scene" that sent the internet spinning into a controversial tizzy early this week. Before we tackle the hot button topic, we take a look at some of the episode's more prominent moments including Jorah's reflection on his daddy issues with the Jeor Mormont. Our favorite fallen knight and his dwarven companion Tyrion continue to steal the show on their journey to join Daenerys in Mereen. After the pirate kidnapping, there's only one question left to ask. Where have the Westerosi cock merchants been hiding? After a few weeks away, Arya returns to further explore the depths of the House of Black and White. It turns out, she's not the liar we all thought she was when faced eye to eye with Jaqen H'ghar. King's Landing continues to crumble at the hands of Cersei Lannister in her crusade to keep Margery from taking the seven kingdoms. Olenna Tyrell returns to even the odds, but that doesn't keep the Queen Mother from dragging Loras's name through the mud in a procedural hearing. The titular storyline featuring Jamie and Bronn's mission into dorm falls flat no thanks to a few missteps in the fight choreography and rushed storytelling. We break down all the reasons this plot thread has been dragging and offer a few suggestions on how to send it bouncing back. This week’s episode of Game of Thrones may not have quite packed the same level of action that we’ve become used to, but “Kill the Boy” didn’t disappoint in its character drama and we’re ready to dive right into all of it. On this installment of The Cast Beyond the Wall, we’re joined by special guests Dalton Stuart and Jessica Martin to discuss all of the latest developments in the north side of Westeros. We were all shocked by the passing of Ser Barristan after last week’s cliffhanger and we try to decide whether or not showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss gave the understated fan favorite his due. In the fallout of his death, Daenerys makes a vengeful decision to begin burning the former slave owners alive. It may not be one of the most diplomatic solutions, but we chime in with our thoughts on how well her moves will play with the rest of Mereen. This season of Game of Thrones continues to give Stannis knock out moments and this week was no exception. The self-declared king continues to win us over with his respectable decisions and great one on one talks with all of our favorite characters. Before finally departing the wall, Stannis has a few last words with Jon Snow and Samwell Tarly. After decapitating the despicable Janos Slynt a couple of episodes back, Jon continues to make controversial moves in his role as Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch. We take a closer look at his polarizing decision to work with the wildlings and set the likes of Ollie against him. The family drama in Winterfell began to ramp up this week as well now that Sansa is starting to settle into her old home. After years of being apart, she is finally reunited with Theon and the results are truly twisted. There’s certainly a lot to discuss this week and as always, we break it all down in our lengthy and in-depth discussion. This week’s episode of Game of Thrones was season 5’s most action-packed installment yet, thanks to the rise of the Faith Militant and the growing threat of the Sons of the Harpy. Joining us in our in-depth discussion of the events that took place is We Got This Covered writer Sam Woolf, who has some of his own interesting theories and reactions to this week’s shocking cliffhanger. In case you missed it, “Sons of the Harpy” ramped up the events in King’s Landing when Cersei decided to arm the Faith Militant and name the High Sparrow the High Septon of the realm. She taunted Margery by having the Sparrows arrest Loras Tyrell for crimes against the gods and left the newly crowned King Tommen to pick up the pieces. While all hell broke loose in the capital, Jamie and Bronn landed in Dorne and continued their suicide rescue mission for Princess Myrcella. The Dornish storyline also brought us our first look at Oberyn’s bastards, known as the Sand Snakes, and we try to decide if they live up to his legend. In northern Westeros, Jon Snow survived Melissandre’s first seduction attempt while Stannis finally revealed the softer side of his hardened heart. He continues to be one of the most controversial characters on the show and we weigh in on the merit of his methods, intentions and recently discovered love for his daughter. Finally, we round out this week’s exciting discussion by talking about the climactic skirmish between Greyworm, Barristan Selmy and a band of harpies that had us clamoring for more.
